The session will also provide information on the FirstNet – Built by AT&T portal, and will walk through how eligible network users can begin using the dedicated network.

Session 4 – LMR to LTE integration: What Does It Mean, Why Do We Need It, And Who Can Do It?
Description: Much has been made about interoperability between LMR networks and LTE based devices. This “101” course will explain the methods by which LTE-based solutions can tie into existing Land Mobile Radio networks and will outline some of the department-wide efficiencies to be gained by leveraging AT&T’s nationwide LTE network.

Session 5 –Hardware & Software - What choices and options are available today
Description: Not just any products will make their way on to public safety’s dedicated public safety network. AT&T’s team has outlined very stringent hurdles that must be cleared before anything – hardware or software – touches the FirstNet network. Experts from FirstNet – Built by AT&T, along with entities that have stepped through the certification processes will share their experiences on how solutions are vetted. Presentation will include an overview of what devices and software are available today.

Description: FirstNet’s network is more than just towers. Learn from industry professionals who will describe some of the less well-known, but incredibly important components of the network that keep people connected in a multitude of ways.
Session 7 – Push to Talk over LTE
Description: Questions always abound regarding push to talk over LTE: is my LMR radio going away? What are the differences between LMR and LTE PTT? Is LTE-based PTT Mission Critical? This session will cover these questions and more during the roundtable session.
Session 8 – Grants & Resources Information
Description: The solutions covered during the conference today aren’t unattainable, even to departments who may be pressed for budget dollars to cover the cost of adoption. Learn how public safety-specific grants can help fill gaps where city or county-wide budgets might fall short.
